Back at their own Nocturnal Groove Digital, long-serving British House duo The Shapeshifters return to the original production front with ‘It’s Alright’. Armed with a double-barrelled onslaught of warm House grooves and funk infused trumpets, the carneval-esque focus of ‘It’s Alright’ marks a move to the funkier sounds that the post-summer season beckons. Aptly tailored around its infectious trumpet work and firm leads, this is a solid gem of the good time vibes that have been all too commonly overlooked amid the Dance explosion.
Having mastered a melodious take on House music for Nocturnal Groove label for quite some time now, Finnish duo Something Good wander out of their comfort zone for ‘Before Dawn’. With 2012 already shaping up to be their best year yet, ‘Before Dawn’ sees Something Good continue their neoteric approach to productions with a heartwarming concoction of emotive key work and an unprecedented vocal line from up-and-coming Finnish singer Sansa. Despite not quite hitting the same superb notes as their predecessors where originality is concerned, the lack of the sound the duo is more commonly associated with is made up for with a groove-inducing remix treatment, courtesy of label heads The Shapeshifters.
Since 2004, when Simon Marlin and Max Reich initially teamed up as The Shapeshifters, have they seen themselves steadily becoming two of House music’s most essential pioneers. Holding a gifted awareness and creativity, one of the acts in the prestigious roster of the peerless Defected Records, the British-Swedish duo return to the fellow grounds of the London-based record imprint to pursue their advancement after last year’s unremitting Helter Skelter and She Freaks and a year of nothing but full-on Ibiza anthems. Their hip-shaking yet soulful signature mixture of sounds has made them rise perpetually over the course of seven years.
Now teaming up with the incredible voice of Charles Dockins, also known as C-Dock, for Nothing But Love For You. Representing the sounds of the traditional House music scene with soothing instrumentals in the break, a soulful vocal, a bumpy drop and an overall captivating appeal. Nothing But Love For You is now out on Defected.
These guys completely killed it in 2010 dropping such Ibiza anthems as Helter Skelter and She Freaks. After having kickstarted their year of 2011 with the smashing remix of Looking Forward, The Shapeshifters are preparing for yet another year of Ibiza anthems, returning to the prestigious Defected Records with a brand new single alongside Holland-stationed Shermanology. Exotic beats and a soulful vocal abound on this new joint called Waiting For You.
With a headline position on his latest release on Nocturnal Groove Digital and after having scored a top-class EP on Hotfingers Music, Jason Chance returns with yet another qualitative tech release representing Roger Sanchez’ Stealth Records. It’s called Looking Forward and comes along with remixes from no others than The Shapeshifters and Stefano Noferini!
Grabbing ahold of their latest hit Helter Skelter, The Shapeshifters uses the unique sound to produce another high-class craft, signed to the renowned Defected Records. Get yourself a copy of it now!
The prestigious UK duo The Shapeshifters are delivering another cool techy track called She Freaks. It’s kind of the same sound as their recent release Helter Skelter. Anyhow, it’s getting released on November 24th through Defected Records, have a listen!
