Having proven their unified strength with their remix of ‘You Used Me‘ earlier this year, Australian trio Those Usual Suspects unite with local peer Nordean for their first collaborative stint for Dirty South’s Phazing imprint with the ‘Burn Forever’ EP.

Where the original mix of ‘Burn Forever’ mixes the familiar vocal stylings of ‘Walking Alone’ topliner Erik Hecht with a smooth yet stubborn run of melodic developments and uplifting hooks, Haitian boywonder Michael Brun brings a sharper peak time rendition to the package. With EP B-side ‘Prophet’ showcasing the collaborative force at an instrumental high with progressive grooves and euphoric synths in full-effect, this latest EP off Phazing Records sets the imprint in positive motion towards the New Year.

Out today on Beatport.

Teaming up alongside familiar vocal asset Ron Carroll, Australia’s Goodwill makes a long overdue return to original releases with ‘You Used Me’. Cleansed in spiritual vibes that echo the heyday of emotionally charged club music, the original’s mixture of Carroll’s pitch-perfect top line, Balearic strings and vintage synths suggests resurgence from the moody vibes currently overriding the industry.

But first to bat for the remix package, Phazing-endorsed Nordean and Those Usual Suspects offer a strong, bouncy take on the Goodwill original, leaving room for Wax Motif to add gruff low-end riffage for a slightly heavier-set remix. Rounding out the release, Adam Trigger and David Hopperman are on hand with a growling, synth-led take for the by far hardest hitting remix of the package.

With Dirty South loudly singing his praises, Haitian boywonder Michael Brun is back in true Phazing fashion to unveil his Phazing Radio-premiered remix of Those Usual Suspects and Nordean’s new single alongside Erik Hecht.

Having comfortably executed two original efforts for the label and with a third one on the way in ‘Rift‘ alongside label head honcho Dirty South himself, Brun’s upcoming fourth release on Phazing marks his return to remix duty with an uplifting take on ‘Burn Forever‘. Made up of joyous piano play, Hecht’s angelic voice and ultimately a crescendo of caressing synths, Brun goes in the same vein as his more recent studio exploits, putting a traditional Phazing twist on the more restrained original.

Update (4/12): Out December 17th on Phazing Records along with the original mix and another original track called ‘Prophet’.

Rising Aussie trio Those Usual Suspects return to Phazing Records alongside Erik Hecht to aid homeland peer Nordean’s inauguration to the label with ‘Burn Forever’.

While following up ‘Walking Alone‘ alongside label head Dirty South himself was never going to be an easy challenge, the down-under trio step away from the heavier-set realms of Dance music to create a dreamy production in true Phazing fashion. Utilising Erik Hecht’s distinct vocal assets with a string of quavering synths, the emotive keys and infectious energy of this Phazing Radio-premiered track fail to top that of ‘Walking Alone’ but are a reigning testament to the renowned A&R skills and musical preferences of head honcho Dragan Roganovic.

Update (4/12): Out December 17th on Phazing Records along with a Michael Brun remix and another original track called ‘Prophet’.

Russia may be proving a hot territory for refreshing EDM talent, but where its new school contenders are covering the mark, few can boast the attainments of the Anjunabeats approved maestro behind the somewhat recent Mat Zo collaboration ‘Mozart’. Having sealed an Essential Mix for Pete Tong in the early hours of 2012, his ever-promising studio output and increasingly ferocious live presence are proving a winning collaboration for the young producer. Donning his superior club floor dialect to Phazing’s blue eyed vocal banger ‘Walking Alone’ – something of a standout track for Australian stronghold Dirty South and Those Usual Suspects – this one and only remix offering was never to receive a played-down approach. Embracing the stunning voice of Erik Hecht, Arty dampens the eager anticipation for forthcoming collaboration alongside Russian peers Matisse & Sadko ‘Trio’ with a formative remode of the originals momentous energy. Dealing in brisk keys and the prompt sweeping progression firmly associated with the young producer, this is a standout performance on the eve of what promises to be a crucial year for this leading European contender.

Dirty South & Those Usual Suspects feat. Erik Hecht – Walking Alone (Original Mix)

/Anton

Seething hot off their sublime single with Dirty South and vocals from Erik Hecht, titled Walking Alone, the up-and-coming trio from Melbourne, Australia that is Those Usual Suspects returns with a new single onboard. Embodying a vocal from Jérôme Sebag, better known as Jay Sebag, whom is known for his collaborative efforts with Martin Solveig, Syke ‘N’ Sugarstarr and more, Give It To Me is the latest dance music offering from Onelove Recordings.

Now remixed by the proficient aspirants from Liverpool, Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala, the rise of Give It To Me continues to thrive. The duo, who are primarily acknowledged for their official take on Avicii’s Street Dancer this year, give the quite downtempo original from Those Usual Suspects a momentous progressive uplift. Adding a funky piano riff atop the vocals, which are a tad remindful of the voice of Michael Jackson, to precede the sweeping synth lines in the powerful drop, this hotly tipped making unfolds and validates the Brits’ impeccable production skill and their reputation as two highly underestimated producers, who are responsible for sounds worthy of belonging amongst the crème de la crème of electronic dance music aristocracy.

After the conquest of the original and with his and Mat Zo’s follow-up to Rebound, titled Mozart, due to see its release this very weekend, Arty previews his remix of Dirty South and Those Usual SuspectsWalking Alone, as premiered by Armin van Buuren last night. Kicking things off with a meaty kick and quite simple chords, only to later break down and into Arty’s ravishing take on sweepy progressive, another trademark for the Russian prodigy surfaces and will be joining such tunes as Around The World, Kate and the remix for Punk on his prestigious repertoire shortly. Having become one of the essential pioneers of Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats label after seeing playlistings from the likes of Swedish House Mafia, Tiësto, David Guetta and Armin van Buuren and many others this year, Arty has undubitably made one of the most remarkable bursts onto the club music scene lately, scoring numerous belters and gaining steady support from the crème de la crème of clubland.

Whilst we are eager in the wait for his collaborative effort with Matisse & Sadko, titled Trio, coming up on Axtone, Arty takes on the latest single out from Phazing Records, Walking Alone, to complement the stunning voice of Erik Hecht with a frisky piano and his characteristically sweeping progression.

The Arty remix of ‘Walking Alone’ is released February 15th via Phazing Records.
